Stop calling me a praise singer, Cynthomania cries out

Artistes are usually hammered because of the kind of music they do, which has become the case of Imo State born artistes cum fashion guru, Cynthia Akudo Jonah popularly known as Cynthomania aka Ada Owerri, who recently did a song titled ‘Imo State Ebeano’.
 The song which is already gaining massive airplay in all radio stations based in the state, has names of some politicians mentioned on its last verse and comments have been popping up calling Cynthomania the next political praise singer in town.
The Mbieri born artiste has however reacted to those statements, saying they are none of her business.
She said “I wasn’t hyping any politician nor party, I just did a song to talk about what I have seen presently in Imo State because it is much better than what it used to be”
Cynthomania who has been touring other states and countries for music and fashion also added that she did the song because she believes in the state and Igbo culture.
“Most people find it difficult to associate themselves with their state and culture, but I’m not that type. I’m proud of who I am and I if have another chance to hype my state or culture on a song, I’ll gladly do it. People can talk, but I am neither politician nor praise singer but an artiste” She added.
Cynthomania already has three videos shot by each of Patrick Ellis, Clarence Peters and Kuty with of the tracks ‘Love Nwantinti’ done with Timaya.
Imo State Ebeano and Oringo are the two tracks Cynthomania is using to hit the eastern musical scene and soon the songs will be on every single blog rooted in all South East states and beyond.

Angry Imolites attacks Professor Viola Onwuliri on facebook for attacking imo state Governor on radio

Angry Imo state citizens this morning poured out there anger on the Minister for Foreign affairs Prof Viola Onwuliri for attacking the imo state governor on air.

The minister was guest to the popular radio program People's assembly on Hot fm Owerri earlier this morning and i guess she was on one of those campaign visits. 

  An angry imolite who claimed he tried reaching Hot fm through the normal phone numbers but could not get through said

"They all know what they are doing,how come hot fm lines were not going through???this people are just anti Rochas and will do any thing to spoil his image.

She said the governor goes abroad for treatment while he claims he built hospitals, what about the president or even herself viola,as am saying this, the wife to the president whom she claims is a good man is in abroad receiving medical treatment. why not treat her here in Nigeria? who is deceiving who?"

Police apprehends one of Prince Noel's killers

An unconfirmed report reaching us has it that one of those suspected to be killers of Prince Noel Unegbu has been apprehended by men of Nigeria police.
The source has it that the police caught up with the suspect whose identity is yet to be revealed by following a trail he left with his accompanist after running out of the hotel in fear when the gun was fired.
The source has it that the police has made the trail a top secrete in their investigation to avoid the losing the suspect.

Should this be confirmed by the police, it will be a big plus in the search for those who gruesomely murdered the United State based show promoter in his hotel room at Rapour Hotels located in Amakohia area of Owerri the capital city of Imo State.
The fact that ace Nollywood actor, Sam Loco Efe in 2011 also died in the same hotel, angered a lot of youths in the state and beyond who called for the closure of the hotel as well as a total overhauling in the security system of all hotels in Imo State.
Prince Noel Unegbu arrived Nigeria in January for the second edition of his talent hunt show, Imo Got Talent, but met his untimely death after spending less than three weeks in the country.
Although the news is still unconfirmed, it will stir up joy among his friend in Nigeria and abroad who have been calling on the Nigerian Police to take swift action in finding the killers of Prince Noel.
No statement has come from the family members to confirm this news, but after a post-mortem was done at Aladinma Hospital in Owerri, it is believed that the family will be gearing for the burial of the Akokwa born Houston based promoter.
If the ‘who’ in the killing has is close to being solved, the next thing will be ‘why’.
Good job by the Nigeria Police, we hope to see them unravel the rest of the mystery behind the killing.

How Uche Ogbuagu defrauded over 500 Imo state Artists

Hmmmm!! This case is becoming alarming, just days  back, some group of Imo state artistes accused the former S A to the Imo state government on entertainment Uche Ogbuagu of seeking political attention from the political opponents of his former boss OWELLE ROCHAS OKOROCHA. Now another anonymous Imo state top star is calling for Uche Ogbuagu's probe.
He said that Uche Ogbuagu is a fraudster who utilizes every opportunity he sees to achieve his selfish desires.                      

" uche ogbuagu is a thief.... If not he would not have defrauded us with the concept of IMO LOUD SPEAKER AWARD ... Where he convinced almost 600 imo artistes to pay the sum of 5000 naira each, telling them that the governor is coming to watch them perform and the winner will be taken abroad. He is so inconsistent , he's an already made failure who knows that he is due for sack and for that reason he's seeking for owelle's opponents attention
This is what he does,  he uses the artistes complains to collect money from the governor, in the name of helping the artistes, after which he eats the money , telling the artistes bad stories against the governor
Uche should be questioned on where he kept the money he realized from artistes during the loud speaker's award last year
He's the worst leader I have ever set my eyes upon"
Talking of the  IMO LOUD SPEAKER AWARD, i dont think i got wind of that but all the same, i think what ever that is worth doing is worth doing well. It will be a shameful thing to see somebody like Uche Ogbuagu involving himself in such a display of insincerity  when he speaks out against corruption and bad governance in most of his jokes.

Imo artistes slam Uche Ogbuagu over statement on gov. Okorocha

Artistes around Imo State have reacted to what the former Chief Comedian of Government House Owerri, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu said recently against his former boss, Imo State governor, Owello Rochas Okorocha.
While they all agreed that Hon Ogbuagu was right to say that the present government has no regard for artistes in the state, a section of the artistes said Hon Ogbuagu is just another politician seeking for attention and sympathy for his next ambition.

Hon. Ugbuagu said that the governor has neglected the abundant talents in the entertainment industry of the state, preferring to patronize entertainers outside the state.
The artistes who chose to remain anonymous said Hon. Ogbuagu is a disgrace, telling him to go back to back to drawing board if his achievement for the offices he held under the ruling Rescue Mission were just everything he mentioned in just one sentence.
“For someone like him who has been there since I was a kid, we looked up to him for change, but he didn’t; all he can do is put down just a sentence of two lines as his achievements for more than two years. He is the same with the man he is condemning.

Maybe he was referring to the wedding ceremony of the governor’s daughter where he was not used as the MC despite his position then as the Chief Comedian of the Government House”
Another said “For him to tell the public that the governor could not help him when his mother was sick is a shame. He is just saying that if the governor had helped him, he would still be working with them. At the moment he is seeking attention from Okorocha’s oppositions and only a fool will hire a chameleon like him”
Hon Uche Ogbuagu enumerated the following as his achievement; Imo State entertainment summit, first ever organized Imo Alive, creation of Imo Bongo Square, the Imo Artistes Insurance Scheme, the co-hosting of Nigeria Diva, the unification of all diverse associations of Nigeria film practitioners and other genres of comedy, Imo show of fame, held in Manchester, California, Texas and the UK.
But it will be noted that Imo Talent Centre (Bongo Square) had been in existence and was previous managed by Hon. Emma Duru before Hon. Ogbuagu took over as Director General of the centre last year.
Artistes however questioned the existence of Imo Artistes Insurance Scheme and the unity he brought when he is reportedly part of a faction of PMAN in the state.

“It’s always a shame that people come out and say what they like because they have the platform to do so. He has done more harm than good to the state’ entertainment industry and the best thing for him is to go back to Aba where he started. No sane artiste would want to deal with him again.
He said he united comedians in the state; I dare him to tell the public the name of their association and make public the names of the members of such association. He is such a liar.
The governor has done his thing his ways, acting like none of us exist, but we don’t need someone like Oguagu to fight for us. He is fighting for himself”
Several calls on the present government to appoint an SA on Entertainment has fallen on deaf ears, while several other offices have been created with people appointed to head them.
Artistes are all watching and waiting for 2015 when someone would want to throw quick money around to buy them over.
